    How to use this paver calculator

    This is an area-based estimate for one repeated paver size. Mixed-size patterns require the manufacturer’s pattern coverage.

    Cuts around edges, drainage and curved borders can increase the quantity. Set the allowance to suit the layout before ordering.

    Paver planning questions

    How do I calculate pavers per square foot?

    For a repeating size, the area occupied by one paver uses its length and width with the joint allowance. Divide the project area by that module area, then apply your allowance and round to whole packages. Use actual unit dimensions rather than adding joints twice.

    Does the paver count include sand and base?

    No. Calculate the aggregate base and bedding sand separately at their specified depths. A mixed-size pattern needs its manufacturer’s pattern coverage, and polymeric jointing sand needs a product-specific joint calculation.
