A useful starting point
These tools estimate quantities. They do not inspect the site, select a structural design or replace product specifications. Check the material list with your supplier before ordering.
How to check an estimate
Start with the measurements inside the area you intend to fill or cover. Replace the example inputs, choose your measurement system and read the formula beneath the result. For bags, boxes or boards, use the coverage or dimensions of the product you will actually buy. Compare the result before and after an allowance so that you can see what changed.
The same project can need different tools at different stages. A patio may require separate estimates for its base, bedding sand and pavers. A board-foot quantity describes wood volume; it does not replace a cutting list. Our planning guides explain these distinctions with worked examples.
English and German versions
Both versions use shared calculation formulas. The language switch connects corresponding pages, while the measurement selector controls units. Prices come from your own quote; switching language or units does not retrieve exchange rates or current supplier prices.
Corrections and suggestions
If an example or result seems wrong, send the page address and a small reproducible example. A product label or a source for the disputed figure helps us distinguish an arithmetic error from a different material assumption. We do not promise a construction outcome from an online quantity estimate.
Editorial approach
Worked examples are distinct from installation recommendations. We do not claim to have installed or field-tested a product when an article explains a calculation. The garden material image is an illustrative AI-generated image, not a photograph of a documented installation.
