    Enter actual face dimensions and the joint width separately. The estimate counts one face layer and does not include a second leaf or hidden returns.

    Bond pattern, corner details and openings affect cuts. Mortar quantities and structural suitability are outside this piece count.

    Brick planning questions

    Do I enter nominal or actual brick dimensions?

    Enter actual face dimensions and enter the joint width separately. Adding the joint forms the repeating module. Entering nominal dimensions that already include the joint, then adding it again, can undercount the required bricks.

    Does the wall estimate include mortar and special bricks?

    No. It counts one face layer using area. Corners, returns, lintels, bond details, mortar and structural requirements need separate attention. Subtract openings once and allow for cuts appropriate to the chosen bond and wall layout.
