    Name the aggregate size and intended use when asking for a quote. The term aggregate includes many products with different physical properties.

    This estimates a placed layer; it is not a concrete mix design and does not calculate cement, water or admixtures.

    Aggregate planning questions

    How do I calculate aggregate base quantity?

    Multiply the covered area by the specified depth for that base layer. Convert to the unit used by your supplier and add an appropriate ordering allowance. If the project uses several aggregate sizes, create one estimate per layer and product.

    Why does the aggregate weight field need a density?

    Aggregate is a broad material category. Stone grading, moisture and whether the material is loose or compacted change its bulk density. The calculator needs the density for your product to convert a volume into meaningful tons or tonnes.
